Find Your Voice

The Find Your Voice course is designed to provide both the technical and artistic resources necessary to empower students to discover and enhance their distinctive singing voice and vocal style.  Over the course of 6 weeks, participants will explore in a collaborative group setting how to prepare for a both a solo and a group performance event at The  Underground at DIME.  Vocalists will study vocal care, ear training, improvisation, analysis and coaching, mic technique, rehearsal procedure, song selection and performance staging.  By the close of the course, songsters will have a new appreciation for their one-of-a-kind vocal styling as well as their ability to incorporate their style into a cohesive ensemble sound.

Music Business Basics

How does an entrepreneur make their mark on todays music industry? The music business is a fast-changing landscape where knowledge is essential for career navigation and the monetisation of creative skills. Whether youre an artist, producer, songwriter, musician or someone interested in the business side of music, the Music Business Basics course provides vital information on how to get started and be successful with live performances, income streams, marketing, promotion, branding, sponsorships and so much more.

Sell Your Song

This Songwriting/Business short course is designed to be a hybrid class teaching students various methodologies and processes for composition, lyric writing, and sparking creativity while also outlining the basics of the songwriting industry including copyright, publishing, pitching, licensing, and placement of songs. Each class is divided into one section on Songwriting, one section on Business, and one hands on section allowing students to work on their own compositions using the concepts covered in the class. The final week of the course will include a performance for friends and family in the Underground at DIME.
